WEEK 5

31st January 2022

This week I continued to progress on my portfolio website on adobe portfolio. The previous times i created my portfolio website on Wix. However, i decided that i would use the adobe portfolio as i got 5 free websites that i can create with that because of my adobe subscription. Moreover, i like that there is no ad banner like in wix. This is one of the reasons that i was more drawn towards adobe portfolio rather than wix.

The templates are quite limited. I am more familiar with wix but this new building mode in adobe portfolio is not so bad. A little playing around with it has helped me get more familiar with the look. I chose to customise a template to my concept. Using the elements that i have used in presentation. Below is the theme i will edit and customize to my design. This template is on adobe portfolio. It is easy to customize so i will be using this theme to create my website.

WEEK 6

7th February 2022

This week I played with the cover images adjusted what needed to be adjusted. Cropping the images to fit the covers of the portfolio website. Furthermore, I decided to keep the covers in one color rather than 2 colors.  It is easier on the eye and less distracting.

I created the covers with the symbols I used in my blooming process. I used these symbols as silhouettes so the viewer would have an understanding which level in the blooming process that work is. It is subtle but relevant for the overall theme.

I created 15 works to display in my website. These are what I felt the best works that I have created both in my diploma, degree and individually as a designer. These works are unique and one of a kind. Below is a video of how i edited the template to create my own theme. It is fun that adobe portfolio is easy to customize with little errors

WEEK 7

14th February 2022

This week updated the content further inside the portfolio website. I wanted to find a way to keep the theme cohesive but also user friendly. In the template I used I must go out to view other projects. So, I created a way that could be linked to the next project with the help of buttons. This wat the viewer doesn’t have to go back to the portfolio work page to select a different project that they would like to view. But rather they can view each project one by one.

I found that it is much more user friendly to use this feature. It also was exciting to see what the next project was. Furthermore, I put a creative milestone in each page that reflects the cover of the project. This is to reflect how far I have bloomed as a visual designer. I used a bit of a 3D effect to create the symbols. I wanted to give it a little pop effect. All the symbols are present but in low opacity. Only the one that is relevant to the project will be 100% in opacity. Others just to show the journey of the blooming process or the level.

WEEK 8
21st February 2022

This week I finished uploading the content into the website. I arranged the work in a way that all the symbols are distributed. In a way that it doesn’t clutter in one spot together. This way the creative milestone for each project is distributed in a way that is blooms from a bud. I further created a starting page that the audience views when they first enter.

Even though the desktop version of the website looks stunning, I am having some trouble with the mobile version of the website. But I hope to fix it for next week.

WEEK 9
28th February 2022

This week I fixed the mobile version also. I further updated the page with my CV. The audience can also download the A4 version of the CV as well. I put a list of my education and the working experiences I have. Moreover, I created another page to upload the showreel. This way when it is done I can simply upload the video and the website will be complete.
Overall the website is done and I intend to start on my showreel next week which is week 10.

Here’s a video of a walk-through of the complete website.
